From the director of “Pans Labyrinth,” Guillermo del Toro, comes this fantastic sequel to “Hellboy,” the story of a paranormal entity that we can all identify with on some level, whether it be his unlikely love of kittens or his complicated marital situation. In this follow-up, Hellboy has a brand new challenge to face, an ancient army of golden robotic warriors created to destroy all of humankind. Fortunately, for us humans he is well armed with an arsenal of mega-weapons and plenty of super-natural attributes. The question remains, is he capable of winning a war against those who wish to take over the world of man?
A truce can always be broken. When the truce holds the delicate balance between two worlds, the stakes get very high, so high that Prince Nuada (Luke Goss) cannot resist the power that he has the ability to unleash. His sister Princess Nuala (Anna Walton) knows the error of her brother’s ways and joins forces with Hellboy and his paranormal associates to halt the evil plan.
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you’ll enjoy the para-normal adventures and love stories that lie within. Thoroughly entertaining, with its state-of-the-art special effects and tongue-in-cheek comedy, this sequel was well worth the four-year wait.
Most memorable scene: Hellboy and Abe, both lovesick and both a bit tipsy do a duet of “Can’t Smile Without You” ala Barry Manilow and it brings down the house.
